The Beer Goggler Says: I have always been a firm believer that if you want to be a man then you have to be a man. And in my world, being a man means stepping up to the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning of a seventh World Series game that your team is losing 0-3 with the bases loaded. The count is 3-2 and the pitcher throws you a fastball right down the middle. I lean back, clench my bat and swing way too early and fan the ball. The crowd pelts me with beer bottles and boos so loud that most men, or at least those who think they are men, would fall to the ground, curl up into the fetal position and suck their thumb. Not me. I would hold my finger in the air and run around the bases as if I had actually hit the ball. What would this accomplish? Absolutely nothing. And neither did me spending my life savings on a swimming pool in hopes of getting my fantasy pool girl to come over and clean my pool in her bikini so I could stare at her and drink beer while she works…
